Description of “Edit email template”
Users are now able to edit the email template and create a specific invitation email at a project level, meaning that they no longer have to edit the email template by selecting and inviting candidates to the project. This functionality works in multiple languages.
This functionality extends to ATS users, who can now login to Ascend and create a project template where they can also set the standard invitation email that they would like to use for that specific project. The functionality is applicable for Teamtailor, Greenhouse, ReachMee and HR Manager.
How is this done? The user needs to create a project. Once created, they can go to the project and select “Edit email template”. This will produce the familiar email template modal. In that template modal, the user is able to choose a language that they would like to edit the content of. They can edit the subject, the introduction, and the outro text. When they are satisfied with the content, they can save the edited invitation email. This is now the default email for that language within the project.
The user can now select candidates that they would like to invite and send out the invitation. The email modal will appear again, and the user will see the project’s default email that was defined above. The user is free to edit it here again if they want to, however this edited version will be saved to the user and will be the user’s default that they will see each time they send an invite in future (it does not overwrite the project default!).
Reset email template
At project level, when you press the “reset email template” button, it will erase the custom text and return the text to the standard Ascend email template.
When inviting candidates and the user had previously edited the email away from the project default, the “reset email template” will return the content of the email to the project default email template.
Caveat
It should be noted that once a user sends the project defined email, that email becomes the user’s default email too. This means that if the project email template is edited again and user has already sent out an invitation email, when they send another email invite after the project email template has been edited, they will still see the old project email template. They will need to “reset email template” to get the updated project email template.
